How To Check SSI Benefits
- 1). Make sure you have your Social Security card if you are unaware of your Social Security number. If you do not have your Social Security card, you may request one by phone at 800-772-1213 or by going to your local SSA office.
- 2). Contact SSA via phone at 800-772-1213 and inquire about the status of your SSI. You will need to provide your Social Security number to help verify the status of benefits.
- 3). Complete any additional steps necessary to ensure that benefits are received. If you were denied benefits, you may be required to write an appeal letter or file an appeal form. If your check was not direct deposited due to incorrect bank information, you will need to fill out a new direct deposit authorization form.
