T-Shirt Buying Considerations

101 2
T-shirts are versatile wardrobe items. They can be used as undergarments but also as fashionable outerwear for all members of the family. There are many factors that come into play in choosing what shirt to buy. There are different price levels, quality ranges, and materials to choose from. What are the characteristics of a good quality t-shirt? What do you have to look for when comparing tees to get the best out there?

The material might be something that does not really matter since "it's just a t-shirt," but this assumption is very untrue. The material of your shirt will be felt by your entire upper body, and you would want to buy a shirt that keeps its shape and not shrink when washed. The most popular material for many tees is 100 percent cotton. Wool and linen are also popular choices.

Fabric construction also has to be considered. The structure of the knit is the determining factor. Look for shirts with a firm, even, close knitting. Furthermore, examine the knit structure closely. The tiny loops should be plump and round, and not stretched into thin, long shapes.  If the knitting is stretched, once the garment is laundered, the loops return to their normal round shapes, making the garment shorter and wider.

When it comes to plain deep v neck t-shirts, the fit matters even more than the material. For tee sellers, tee fits should be aimed at your target market. If you're selling to the street wear crowd, you might want to go with a baggy box cut tee. If your clothing line is meant for people who wear t-shirts everyday and want to look good in them, go for fitted tees, sometimes referred to as tubulars.

Most deep v neck shirts have a sewn-on care label. Some t-shirts require to be washed in warm or hot water and tumble dried. Others require more special care such as machine washing in cold water and line drying. Shirts in rich deep color usually require to be washed separately in cool water.

Finally, look for the shirt's price. Note that quality and price often go together because the price you pay in the end depends on the kind of quality you want. Obviously, you want to wear only the best quality clothing out there, but sometimes it just does not fit your budget. If you want to have good quality alternative apparel wholesale buying might just be for you.
