About Crate Training Your Dog

Crate training your dog is not only helpful in some housebreaking techniques, but it is a loving thing to do for your dog.
Your dog will come to think of the crate as his haven, like his own bedroom.
You need to know exactly how big your dog will be, if he's a puppy.
Be sure to have the crate wide and long enough where your dog is comfortable and not all squeezed into the crate.
Buy the crate size according to how large the puppy will grow to be.
They have dividers so as your puppy grows you can move the divider farther back to give your puppy the additional room he needs as he gets bigger.
The divider is a great idea as it will save you a lot of money from buying different size crates along with your dog's growth cycle.
One reason to teach your dog to be crate trained is to teach him to be housebroken.
Most dogs and puppies will not urinate where they sleep.
The longer your pup learns to hold it until you let him out, the sooner it will be when he will sleep in his crate without having any accidents.
Just make sure you let him out a lot so he will learn to go outside.
Since the crate will be his bedroom so to speak, after he is fully housebroken, make the crate comfortable for him.
It should have a gate and open gated bars on the sides for proper circulation.
Cut a thick piece of foam that you can purchase at a fabric store, wrap the foam with an old sheet, throw in an old towel he can scrunch up and he'll be one happy dog.
After your puppy is completely, without a doubt, housebroken, put one of those small, clip-on inside the crate door, water cups.
