12 Questions to Ask Before You Start Using Social Media For Your Business

By now everyone has heard of Social Media.
But is it right for your business? If it is right how do you know if it is right? And to dig even deeper, what outlets are right for your business or brand? Who will manage it? You see there are some serious thoughts to plug in and turn over before you decide if your business are a good fit for each other.
In this article I have simply prepared a list 12 questions for you to ask yourself before you leap in.
After the questions if you wish to move further at least you have completed your homework.

Ask yourself the following top 12 questions:
  1. What are we trying to accomplish?
  2. How do we measure success?
  3. What constitutes failure?
  4. What will we do less of if we are spending resources on Social Sites?
  5. Why would you even want to go this way? What is it that interests you in this direction?
  6. Do we have an interesting, dynamic, attention-grabbing story to tell?
  7. What kind of outlets will help us best achieve our goals?
  8. Are we prepared to let go of control of our brand, at least a little?
  9. What will we do to encourage participation?
  10. Who will maintain our presence in this new format?
  11. Do we have the resources to keep this up, or will this be a short campaign?
  12. How does engaging users via Social Media integrate into our overall marketing / communications strategy?
