Trekking Through Mont Blanc in France
This classic walk to the Mont Blanc in France is a fair introduction to the cultures of the three countries and the Alps.
Trekking towards the Mont Blanc is walking though the world's most famous routes of the Alpines.
It covers the three well known countries of France, Italy and Switzerland all of them quite unique in their own appeal.
The trek is beautiful, the company is good and the sights are the best.
The route is sprinkled with meadows that are filled with beautiful colorful blossoms and the views are spectacular.
Every stop we made to take a look at the valleys and snow peaked mountains, left us gaping with our mouths wide open.
Away from civilization with only the soft whisper of the winds and the beautiful chirping of the birds made the trek even more joyful and no one ever felt the strenuous walk.
Although you do need to be pretty fit to take the trek since the group tries to cover a minimum of 10-15 kms per day.
The trails are excellent and well marked, making it easy to follow.
Some of them even travel to interesting areas though cable cars.
The trek involves a lot of ascents and descents and therefore people do usually get tired by the end of the day, this is when the cable cars come in handy.
Along with the beautiful views and the countries crossed we also got to enjoy the different cuisines and the wonderfully spirited wine.
The customary inns served excellent food and good wine which was all made in their own unique style and traditions.
Col de la Croix du Bonhomme involves a long ascent trek and the view from up above down the Valle des Chapleux and focusing towards the Bourg St.
Maurice is astonishing.
This was on day 3 of our trek and the pictures that each one took of the view were indescribable.
We were like kids showing it off to each other all excited.
Least did we know that the other days were equally spectacular and it only got better.
From Val Veny we could see the Italian part of Mont Blanc; luckily it was a clear day.
If it wasn't then the whole view would have be covered with thick fog.
On day 7 we were to trek towards Champex where the other side was covered with beautiful pine forests.
The air was fresh and the scents from the pine forest were really heady and refreshing.
We trekked uphill and then downhill which was a bit over the beautiful Champex village that glistened with its deep blue lake.
On day 8 we experience the best mountain days of the entire trek where we traversed across the Fenetre d'Arpette.
Its high colonies were picturesque and when we reached the pass and looked down, we seen the beautiful Trient Glacier shinning like a diamond in the sun.
All along the route is excellent with beautiful views and guides that know the route at the back of their hand.
I had already made up my mind to walk this route in the near future again.
