Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 Tutorial
- 1). Set up Outlook properly by making sure your select it as your default email client during installation. Select "Yes" when you are prompted with the question.
- 2). Configure Outlook for your email account by entering your account information. You will be prompted for the information. Enter your name, other account information, and the incoming and outgoing server addresses into the text boxes provided for them.
- 3). Click on the "Go" menu, and a drop down menu will appear with options to select between the mail, calendar, contacts, tasks, and notes panes of Outlook 2003. You can also click on any one of these four icons, located at the lower left of the Outlook window.
- 4). Create a new item in Outlook by clicking on the "New" menu at the top of the Outlook window. You can then choose to create a new email, add a contact, add an appointment, or add a new task or note.
- 5). Sort any of your items for easy reading and organizing by clicking on the field label at the top of the navigation pane by which you wish to filter the information. Then type the first letter or number on your keyboard for the sort. For example, in the mail navigation pane, click on "To" and then type the letter "A". Outlook will sort and then display all the emails that you have sent to anyone with a name or email address that begins with the letter "A".
- 6). Send and receive email messages manually by clicking on the "Send and Receive" button.
- 7). Make new folders and you can organize your items for quick reference later. Click on the "File" menu, select "New", and then click on "Folder." Then you can simply drag and drop items into the folder.
- 8). Customize the look of Outlook 2003 by clicking on "View", and then editing the "Current View", "Navigation Pane", and "Toolbars" to fit your preferences.
