    Buying Tickets

    • Spaceship Earth at Night

According to Disney.com, as of July 2009, a one-day ticket to Disney World for ages 10 and up is $75. For ages 3-9, a one-day ticket costs $63. The more days added to the ticket, the bigger the savings. Adding the Park Hopper option to each ticket is an additional $50 per ticket and allows guests to travel between the four Disney World parks whenever they choose. According to Mouse Saver, discounted tickets are available through AAA, military discounts and Undercover Tourist.

    Staying in Orlando

    • Balloons

There are various hotels close to Walt Disney World that are a lot easier on the budget than staying at one of the many Disney resorts. Using websites such as Hotels.com and Priceline can help you find the best deals on hotels in the area. As of July 2009, parking at Walt Disney World is $12 per car, per day. To save on parking, choose a hotel that offers a free shuttle service to and from Disney parks. Many of the closer hotels offer this service at no charge to their guests. According to Frommers.com, the best time to visit Walt Disney World is after Labor Day and before Thanksgiving. During the slower season, hotel rates are much lower.

    Food and Dining

    • Plate and Silverware

Eating at Disney World can quickly blow a budget. It's wise to eat breakfast before arriving at the park. Some hotels offer a free continental breakfast, but even eating at a local restaurant will be cheaper than a meal in the park. Walt Disney World also allows guests to bring in food and drinks. Drinks are required to be in plastic bottles, and food can be anything as long as it doesn't need to be heated. It's wise for every family member to carry a water bottle that can be refilled throughout the day. When eating at the park, look at a map for restaurants with only one dollar sign next to it. These are the cheapest places to eat. If you're looking for a quick snack, there are stands throughout the park that sell fruit for $1, making it not only the cheapest, but the healthiest snack as well.

    Souvenirs

    • Mickey's Camera

It's a good idea to have a budget for each person when it comes to souvenirs. Decide how much each person is allowed to spend on items throughout the park and stick to it. There are ways to find cheap souvenirs throughout the parks as well. At the end of many rides, there are machines that allow guests to buy pressed pennies. These pennies are ride-themed and cost between 50 cents and $1 as of July 2009. Most restaurants have interesting designed swizzle sticks and napkins that can make cheap souvenirs. Bring a camera along and take pictures. Pictures are the most cost effective way to remember a Disney World vacation.
