  Memorial Day is a time to remember loved ones who have passed on. Many families also like to get together and enjoy each other's company on Memorial Day weekend. Drive to your local beach and spend the weekend collecting seashells and having barbecues on the beach or fly to a destination farther away from home for the entire weekend. White Mountains Arizona

• Go to the White Mountains on your Memorial Day weekend vacation. The White Mountains are nestled in northern Arizona. Enjoy camping, fishing at the lake or hiking in the woods. Take pictures of panoramic mountain views or simply relax and enjoy nature. The White Mountains are covered with pine trees, shrubs, wild flowers and other plant life. Buy homemade fudge or other souvenirs in one of the small mountain towns in this region.

  The entire Oregon coast is a weekender's paradise. The coast is clean and not cluttered with too many people like you might see in a more heavily populated area. There are many "hot spots" along the coast and specific destinations that you can visit. The beach is bordered by grass, cliffs and woodlands, depending on where you go. Newport is a small town that features aquariums within miles. Enjoy a picnic on the beach one day and then head over to the Oregon Coast Aquarium on another day. You can also spend time shopping along the beach or enjoying the food at the many oceanfront restaurants.

Walt Disney World

• Take your family on an adventurous trip for the weekend to Walt Disney World in Florida. Three days is plenty of time to explore what Disney World has to offer. Ride on the rides, watch live shows and go to Disney's animal park and aquarium. There are plenty of attractions to fill your entire day with entertainment.
