  Wilmington Island is situated 12 miles east of the city of Savannah in Georgia. The island also has a town called Wilmington Island. Wilmington Island is primarily a residential area and does not have hotels. There are plenty of rooms to be found, however, in Savannah to the west and on the Atlantic Ocean to the east. • The Ocean Plaza Beach Resort is on Tybee Island, which is only a few minutes to the east from Wilmington Island and 20 minutes from Savannah. As the name would suggest, the Ocean Plaza Beach Resort is an oceanfront property. It has 215 rooms, suites and condos that come with private balconies. Guests do not need to leave the resort to be dined and entertained. Located in the resort and along the beach is the Dolphin Reef Oceanfront Restaurant & Sports Bar. The property also has two outdoor pools and a pool bar. The resort advertises itself as Tybee Island's only full-service hotel. In addition to balconies, all the rooms have full-size bathrooms, hair dryers, coffee maker and and TV.

The Mansion on Forsyth Park Hotel

• The Mansion on Forsyth Park Hotel is an upscale establishment in Savannah. The hotel is a restored Victorian mansion in the heart of the city's historic districts and features 400 pieces of original artwork.
