Cycling Gloves For Winter

The glove itself consists of a windproof outer shell and a removable fleece liner. You can use this glove wearing just the shell, or on a mild day you could ride with just the fleece liner, or put them together to have the best winter glove on the market.

These gloves are great for temperatures between 45 and 55 degrees. However, this temperature range will vary depending on the type of cycling you do. A commuter or mountain biker might be able to wear these gloves in slightly cooler temperatures because they are generally moving slower and the wind will not impact them as much as a roadie riding along at 25 or 30 MPH.

Bicycling in the winter is more difficult than cycling in any other season. In the winter the hands and feet quickly become cold and numb. When cycling, it is essential that you have control over your fingers to apply the brake and steer the bike.

Those Cycling Gloves are insulated to keep your hands warm, but they are usually not windproof and as soon as your hands start to sweat they turn to ice. I own more than twenty pair of full finger cycling gloves and in this article I want to highlight my favorite gloves for fall and winter cycling.

As I see it, the problem with wimpy hands (you are not alone) is once they get cold then you are screwed, blood flow slows and it takes a lot of body heat to return them to life BUT with heated grips they can provide heat to the hands (they have different levels of heat) so if they get cold, crank it up, get heat back to your hands, get the blood flowing again and then turn the heat back down. Gloves and chemical heat pads are great but there is no variability to it.

I got a pair of these at the USGP booth, and I have had problems with the fit. They worked fine in and around the venue on the cold day, but when I rode in them the two leather fingers ( index, middle) were too tight when I held my handlebar. I'm wearing an XL already, and the finger length is dime, it's the girth of the fingers that gives me problems. These are way too small, and my fingers get fall, asleep and get cold even on a mild day. I don't recommend.
