Hard Water

• Water is referred to as hard when it contains an elevated level of mineral deposits, usually dissolved elements such as calcium and magnesium. When routed into your dishwasher, these minerals often result in deposits or spots on dishes. The spots are not a health hazard in any way, just annoying. One approach to dealing with the problem is to try using a little bit more than the recommended amount of detergent in the washer. Sometimes this will overcome hard water spotting.
