Croatan National Forest is a federally preserved area northeast of Pebble Beach filled with swamps and inland waterways. Hunting and fishing are common activities in this park. Non-hunters and non-fishers can spend time on Croatan's extensive trail network. The largest trail is the Neusiok Trail, which is over 20 miles long. Because of its length, the park allows camping anywhere right off the main trail. Guests can also spend time canoeing in Croatan's Catfish and Great Lakes. However, canoers should be careful because alligators are known to inhabit these waters.
