In the face of global financial crisis, many people resort to different kind of things to have a better life.
Some sees seeking greener pastures as answers to their problems and thinks that if they live the "American dream" they will be able to provide more for themselves and their families.
Several people perceive United States as the land of promise and opportunities that will feed them, give them good jobs and sturdier roofs over their heads.
It is however not that easy even for people who live at the borders of the United States.
There are laws that ascertain the legality of entry and stay of in individual in the country and those who are ready enough to wave the documents of their stay will remain untouched and can go on with their lives.
It is however not the same the same for those suspected and proven to have entered the country by illegal means.
An ongoing investigation have been started to ask identities and immigration statuses of people.
As signed by Gov.
Jan Brewer, the bill authorizes the police to clarify identifications of individuals who could be suspected as illegal immigrants.
The bill was not at all welcomed by groups who think this law is fair.
Advocates of civil rights are not happy about this bill and sees it as another form racial discrimination.
Although it has been assured that no one will be harassed during the process, it nonetheless made it difficult for illegal immigrants to find jobs.
Enraged by the bill, several people are sighted to have formed an assembly outside the state Capitol to express contradiction for this law.
The activists are concerned that the police will only check individuals on the basis of their race.
The bill supporters however thwart this speculation stating that nobody will be exempted from this law and all suspected illegal immigrants, regardless of their nationality, will have to undergo police interrogation.
Brewers also dismiss the comments of the critics, remarking that they were only overreacting.
Raul Grijalva, a Democrat Politician also warns companies to stay away in that region if ever they have plans of holding conventions in Arizona.
According to the new law, it is a criminal offense to be in the country by illegal means and immigrants must possess all necessary documents to support their claims.
Failure to do so will be fined $2,500 and could be facing jail stay up to half a year.
The said law could also hinder cooperation and good relations between Mexico and Arizona President of Mexico is also against the law and sees this as criminalization immigration.
He sees that this will only heat up more problems rather that solve shared issues regarding the borders.
The said new law gathered both raised eyebrows to civil rights advocates and nods from the supporters of the bill.
Arizona being the border between the States and Mexico must also be very wary regarding the people coming in and going out.
