Congratulations to Chile - Human Spirit and Triumph at Its Finest - Miner Rescue
Hooray for Chile in success in rescuing the 33 trapped miners who were down a mile underground for over 68 days.
What does this show the rest of the World? It shows that Chile is a great country, with great people, a society which refused to let those miners perish and thus, spared no expense in making sure the rescue efforts were successful.
In fact, they went all the way to the US to bring in expertise, technology, and know-how to save those brave and hardened miners whose perseverance and strength of character got them through.
As Americans we watched on TV and cheered that human spirit, and we are so incredibly humbled by the intense vision and faith in Chile and her people through this whole episode, wow, they taught us how valuable each and every human life is.
They have stuck together and they refused to give up or give in to Mother Nature.
The people of Chile are great, they are proud, they made it through that huge Earthquake, and they show the world how tough they are.
I am impressed - Chile is great! Of course, we know Chile is great by the way their people support their soccer teams.
They play to win, and there is no doubt in anyone's mind now that it is that human spirit which allowed them to win in this rescue.
Although personally, I only have a few acquaintances in Chile, today, I celebrate with them, for all they are, and all they have built in their great society.
It is amazing that such incredible adversity can test the souls and strength of men, but when you watch that strength persevere and win, you know there is something very special going on.
Perhaps, we can learn from these great Chilean miners and the Chilean resolve to rise to the challenge and to make it happen - we can all learn from their team work, skill, and promise to those in need.
The rescue workers made it look easy and the brave miners proved just how tough the Chilean people are.
"They got the right stuff," they were brave and tough, and that is a testament to why the United States has a free-trade agreement with Chile.
They are just like us here in America, they are so much like us, and they are quite an impressive group of people.
They rescued those miners because they had the will and strength.
