How to Configure a Linksys Wireless Repeater
- 1). Plug in the Linksys range expander.
- 2). Insert the installation CD into the computer's CD-ROM. The computer needs to be connected to the wireless network. A setup wizard will run after the CD loads.
- 3). Click on "Setup", then let the setup wizard find your network. If the network configuration that appears is not correct, click on "No" next to "Would you like to use these settings?" If the configuration is correct, continue.
- 4). Select the wireless network that you want to connect to, then click "Yes." Select the network security type and key that is used by the network you want to connect to. This information should be the same as that of the wireless router you are already using. Click "Next."
- 5). Select the range expander in the next window and click on "Yes." You will be prompted to enter a password. Enter "admin", then click on "Enter."
- 6). Click "Next" twice to keep the default settings, then click "Exit" to finish the configuration.
- 7). Unplug the range expander and place it in an area where the wireless signal is the weakest. Plug it in to expand the wireless network to that area.
