A fitted bedroom is the ultimate in comfort, style and storage.
With the many options available today you can bring new life into your room.
There are unlimited configurations to choose from that will give your room an appeal that cannot be surpassed with freestanding furniture.
A series of custom-built wardrobes, chests, cabinets and dressing tables make up the fitted bedroom.
There are different ways to construct the wardrobe portion.
The first style of construction is called full carcase.
This essentially means that the piece is made up of a back panel, full sides, a top, a bottom and a front.
This creates a fully enclosed space for storing your goods.
The second style of construction is called front frame.
This type is not fully enclosed.
A frame and base are used to support the wardrobe, although it has no sides or back wall lining.
The third type of construction used for the wardrobe is a basic frame that is fitted with sliders to be used as door.
All three of these wardrobe styles are usually accompanied with full carcase cabinetry.
The carcase style of fitted bedroom furniture is convenient to install, but it is not as easily customized as the other styles.
It is, however, nice due to the sealed interior and ease of which you can plan layouts.
The front frame is nice for rooms in which there are obstacles such as a jutting wall or sloping ceiling.
The drawback is that it may take a bit longer for installation.
The sliding door layout is great when you would like wall-to-wall storage.
This makes for a simple plan layout and can be less expensive than the other options.
Take into consideration that this setup does not seal your belongings as well as the other two options, so dust may be able to work its way inside.
When in the planning stage of your fitted bedroom, you need to consider what you would like to store inside.
This help you select proper configuration.
Think about which clothes you hang and which you fold.
Also, take into account the non-clothing items that you would like to keep inside the space.
You may have photo albums, keepsake boxes and paperwork that you will want to create space for.
Do not forget to include space for accessories such as shoes, belts, hats, ties and satchels.
Not only is a fitted bedroom optimal for storage but it is also affordable.
When you think about all the money you would spend on freestanding furniture to provide the same amount of storage, you will see what a value this actually becomes.
You will also save quite a bit of floor space over the amount freestanding furniture would take up.
You may be able to install the items yourself, or you may want to hire a contractor.
A handy homeowner could tackle this challenge in most rooms, but if you are facing barriers that seem as if they would impede in your work, you may want to consult a professional.
