Do You Need "We"re Moving" Postcards?

103 5
When you make the decision to move, you have plenty of tasks to think about without worrying about how you're going to let your friends and family members know that you've moved.
You have to choose your movers, pack up all of your belongings, transfer your records and make sure the movers get your belongings to your new house without damage.
This is enough for anyone to have to deal with.
However, people will want to know about your move, so it is important to consider sending them a "we're moving" postcard so they have your new address.
Of course, not everyone has this need, particularly if you have another efficient way of giving your friends and family your address.
For example, these days it is common for people to send an email to everyone they know with their new address, and this solves the problem of how to let them know.
However, not everyone uses email, which might be hard to believe, but it is true.
You can also announce your address via social media since many people are connected in this manner.
You might want to send a private message to those friends you want to know your new address.
Just don't post your address for everyone to see because you probably have some "friends" you would rather not know where you are.
In addition, posting your address is simply inviting crime, since you never know who is actually looking at your post.
Some people choose to send "we're moving" postcards in hopes of getting some gifts to help decorate your new home.
This is certainly a possibility, but it shouldn't be your primary reason for sending them out.
Don't be disappointed if you do not get any gifts because most people will not see the need to send one unless your "we're moving" cards double as invitations to a house warming party.
In this case, you might get some gifts at the party.
For the most part, you probably do not have to send "we're moving" postcards to everyone you know.
You might just send them to people who aren't on the Internet in any capacity just to make sure they can get in contact with you if they need or want to.
An email or social media message to your closest friends and family is most likely all that you need to do.
However, sending "we're moving" postcards is a traditional task and might be welcomed by some of your friends and family members.
Ultimately, it's up to you.
