  "American Sk8land" brings the Tony Hawk experience to the Nintendo DS for the first time. "American Sk8land" for the DS brings a cel-shaded visual style and Wi-Fi for online play to the series. Like previous games in the series, "American Sk8land" includes a variety of cheats that can be unlocked by completing various game modes.
  
  

Legacy Camera

• Legacy Camera can be unlocked by beating Story Mode once. Legacy Camera sets the camera to the isometric overhead view used in the older GameBoy Advance Tony Hawk games.
  
  

Classic Mode Unlockables

• The following cheats can be unlocked by beating classic mode the given number of times with any character. Note that you must beat it each time with a different character.
  
  1 time - Crate-a-Skater (pros in classic mode are made out of crates)
  
  2 times - Rail balance (always balance perfectly on rails)
  
  2 times - Manual balance (always balance perfectly in manuals)
  
  2 times - Lip balance (always balance perfectly on lips)
  
  3 times - Tiny mode (player model is tiny, physics remain the same)
  
  4 times - Giant mode (player model is huge, but physics remain the same)
  
  5 times - Matrix mode (Focus automatically activates whenever you are in the air, but cannot be activated manually otherwise)
  
  6 times - First-person camera
  
  7 times - Replay cam (replay camera is always on, even while playing)
  
  8 times - Turbo mode (entire game speeds up)
  
  9 times - Always special (infinite Special/Focus energy)
  
  10 times - Paper Tony (different cel-shaded style)
  
  11 times - Hoverboard (your skateboard is replaced with a hoverboard)
  
  12 times - Nearly Always Ribbon (Special trick ribbon almost always present on your board)
  
  13 times - Ninja Skater (player model is colored completely black)
  
  

Glitch Warning

• It is possible to break the classic mode unlockables, thus preventing you from ever earning them. Normally, to complete a run, you must complete all the goals and let time expire or select "End Run" from the pause menu. If you instead complete all the required goals and select "Retry" from the pause menu, the cheat will not be unlocked (even though you technically completed all of the required goals) and will never be unlocked in the future. Let the time expire or select "End Run," not "Retry."
