  Strategy games are often the most compelling and riveting games on the PC. The worlds are immense and the thought put into the game and needed to properly win the levels and scenarios is incredible. These games are not simple button mashers, but require detailed plans in order to execute the missions set forth.
  
  

Age of Empires 3

• Age of Empires allows the player to create an empire in the New World as the years progress through the different Ages and technology drastically improves and changes, eventually surpassing even today's technology and culture.
  
  

Command and Conquer: Red Alert 3

• The third rendition of the Red Alert series sees the Soviets traveling through time and killing off Albert Einstein, preventing the Allies from creating atomic weapons. As a direct result of the Soviets time traveling antic, a new faction rose to power, called the Empire of the Sun, and threatens the Soviets control.
  
  

Warcraft 3

• The inspiration for the immensely popular MMORPG World of Warcraft, the game started off as a real-time strategy game pitting orcs against humans in battle on land, sea and air.
  
  

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War

• Based on the tabletop game Warhammer 40,000, Dawn of War is a military-based science fiction real-time strategy game. Battles are won by controlling strategic points throughout the maps while resisting enemy attacks.
  
  

Supreme Commander

• Supreme Commander dominates because of its sheer understanding of what strategy is. It forces you to think creatively and find the right solution for the right problem at hand, whether it be choosing the right weapon to destroy enemy forces or selecting the right path to maneuver around them. The only downside to Supreme Commander is that you need a pretty powerful setup to keep everything running smoothly.

Dawn of Discovery

• Take to the seas in the 15th century in search of new land. Once discovered you'll build a settlement and work the land to make sure your people survive, growing into a large civilization.
  
  

Command and Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars

• Command and Conquer 3 returns to the roots of the series in the classic battle of the Global Defense Initiate versus the Brotherhood of Nod. This installment see the return of Nod leader, Kane and introduces a third force of extraterrestrial warriors, the Scrin.
  
  

Starcraft

• Starcraft is considered one of the best strategy games of all time. From the makers of the Warcraft series, Starcraft is a science fiction real-time strategy game set in space as the rejects from Earth were shipped off as the planet became overpopulated. These mutants and robotic creatures formed three separate factions and fell into conflict with each other.
