Every Wednesday evening, from July 11-Aug. 1, the Fort Point neighborhood will come alive with the Fort Point Music Series, a schedule showcasing emerging artists on the music scene. The series also features an affordable catered menu, making for a nice mid-week outing on the wharf in front of the Boston Children’s Museum, which is the sponsor of the free concert appearances. Even though the Boston Children Musesum presents the series, it should be noted that concerts have been planned to be geared to a more adult audience.

On a side note, the museum will be closed during each scheduled event this summer.

When: July 11-Aug. 1. Concerts begin at 5:30 p.m. each Wednesday evening. Concerts will go on, rain or shine. Performers play two sets of approximately 45 minutes each with a 30-minute intermission.

Take the first left on Dorchester Avenue, and then turn right and walk over the Congress Street bridge. The Children’s Museum will on your left. If driving, the Farnsworth Street Garage (17 Farnsworth St., between Congress Street and Northern Avenue) is probably your closest enclosed option for parking. Visit www.bostonchildrensmuseum.org/plan/directions.html for complete information about directions depending on where you will be traveling from. Keep in mind, as shows begin as rush hour begins, public transportation would be your best option.
