How to Add Empty Folders to a Zip File
- 1). Click on the Windows "Start" button on the taskbar in the bottom left corner of the screen to reveal the "Start" menu.
- 2). Select "Run" to open the dialog box. Type "explorer" in the blank field. Click the "OK" button to open "Windows Explorer".
- 3). Click on the folders in the left pane of Windows Explorer to expand and reveal subfolders. Navigate to the zipped folder of interest.
- 4). Double-click on the zipped folder to open it.
- 5). Move the cursor to the right pane in Windows Explorer. Right-click a blank space inside the zipped folder to reveal a pop-up menu. Choose "New", and then click on "Folder" to add a new empty folder to the zipped folder.
- 6). Right-click on the folder and choose "Rename" if you are adding more than one new folder. Use some type of sorting sequence, such as numbers or letters, when naming each folder, e.g., Folder 1, Folder 2, etc.
