Question: Where Can I Buy 38mm Table Tennis Balls?

Hey there,

I've been looking for a good place to purchase 38mm ping pong balls. I really can't stand playing with 40mm balls for some reason, but can't seem to find a place to purchase the 38mm ones.

Do you happen to know of such a place? I like Stiga 3 star oranges a fair bit, but haven't had a chance to dabble with other brands.

Hi Bob,

Unfortunately, these days it's pretty hard to get hold of quality 38mm table tennis balls - the leading manufacturers have all switched to producing 40mm balls instead. I would be a little wary of any 38mm balls these days - since the higher quality balls are all likely to be 5+ years old.

There don't seem to be any major USA or international dealers selling 38mm balls, the closest I could find on the net was an Australian and a Chinese site, both of which appear to be selling lower quality balls.

There were also some mentions in my table tennis forum of American companies that still some some old 38mm balls in stock (no guarantee as to the quality), you can find the threads here and here.

The final suggestion I could make would be somewhere like Ebay, but buyer beware!
