Significance

• Neopets is a website dedicated to the creation, care, and customization of virtual online pets. Users can create an account and adopt up to four pets they can feed, clothe, and groom. However, before the creation of Neopets Mobile, users were only able to access their pets from their computers.

• Neopets Mobile also gave users certain exclusive benefits, including the ability to explore a special area called Lutari Island and own a special Neopet called a "Lutari." Players were also able to play mini-games exclusive to the cellphone, and shop at an exclusive "Island Market."
  
  

History

• The game was originally released exclusively for Cingular phones in early 2006. It was later made available for T-Mobile phones in late 2006, and Singtel phones in early 2007. The game was permanently discontinued in the summer of 2009. As of 2010, the makers of "Neopets" had not given a specific reason for why the service was dropped.
