Lung Infections Symptoms
- With lung infections, there are many symptoms that affect the chest. For instance, you can experience breathing with wheezing or grunting sounds, unusual rapid breathing, chest pain or labored breathing.
- Other common symptoms with lung infections you feel are chills, fever, cough, decreased activity, vomiting and loss of appetite. If you have an extreme strain of pneumonia, your fingernails and lips can turn gray or bluish.
- The incubation period can vary depending on the lung infection. For instance, the incubation period for influenza can be 18 to 72 hours, while the incubation period for a syncytial virus can be four to six days.
- Antibiotics such as penicillin, macrolid and amoxicillin can treat lung infections.
- Although bacterial pneumonia can last one to two weeks, viral pneumonia can last a bit longer. It can takes four to six weeks to recover from mycoplasmal pneumonia.
