Armando Montelongo - Why Is He Not Out of Business Yet?
I first learned of Armando Montelongo from his hit TV show Flip This House on A&E. I have to admit his show was the best out of all the flipping shows because of the drama and comedy that came with each house he flipped. It also helped that his wife was on the show and she was hot and hilarious with how she challenged him going over budget.
I recall noticing his low budget infomercial in 2009 and in 2011 his infomercial had success stories and was done way better compared to 2009. This is a sign of success and I was always taught that if you want to be successful in something to go find a coach.
In 2011, I did the free seminar and then jumped to the $1500 dollar seminar and finally the grand daddy of them all, his famous bus tour. A lot of people hate upsells but in my opinion I believe it separates the ones that want more and the ones that don't believe they can have more. I didn't have the money for the bus tour. I remember this guy didn't have the money to go to the bus tour either and he went up to people's hotel rooms (this happened at the $1500 dollar seminar) and tried to negotiate a deal with them that if he can raise the money for the bus tour he'll share the profits he makes from his flips. This inspired me to figure out a way to go to the bus tour as well. That's what made me get creative to find a student to partner up with to raise the money I didn't have to pay for the bus tour. I hope you can appreciate this story and understand that when there's a will there's ALWAYS a way!
What were my results you might ask? I partnered up with two people. 1 had the time to find deals and the other had a little money but had been in the business since 2009. We went through 3 flips and I made money but the partnership fell apart after 1 year due to personality differences. I still love real estate but not enough to make time for it. Real estate investing is an emotional roller coaster so having supplemental income coming in consistently each month is the way to go if you want a career in real estate. I haven't participated in a flip since 2012 because Internet marketing is my focus. I'll tell you, the ones that are still getting deals in today's market have changed their strategy and also continue to network with the right people. This is what it takes to be successful as a real estate investor.
The problem is I am not making the time to network to get real estate deals. So, my goal now is to continue as an Internet marketer because it fits my schedule and I love being home with my family. Internet marketing to me is a great way to promote whatever business you are in. I have invested money to learn more about Internet marketing and it gets pretty confusing as to whom to go with. I personally like Empower Network compared to all of the others. Empower Network makes it so simple to become an Internet marketer on the same day. A lot of gurus will have you go through several videos and when the videos are finished you just are confused if not more after you complete them. Empower network has videos too, however the difference is you are marketing instantly online and also learning rather than just learning.
