Honda Car Rentals
- The most common type of rental car produced by the manufacturer is the Honda Accord. This car is listed as a full-size vehicle, which makes it slightly more expensive than some of the smaller cars. The car is capable of holding up to six adults and six suitcases in the trunk area. It's equivalent to the Chevy Impala, Dodge Intrepid and the Ford Taurus in terms of size.
- Advantage Rentals, which is available at some major airport locations, offers Honda vehicles at some of its outlets. Some of the offices rent a Chevy Impala and don't carry Honda vehicles though the cars are listed in the same class. Enterprise Rent A Car also uses Honda Accord cars at some of its rental locations, but it also carries a wide range of Volkswagen, Ford, Pontiac and Chevrolet vehicles.
- In certain areas you can rent Honda hybrid vehicles such as the Honda Insight. This is more common in Japan where the vehicles are manufactured. There are some parts of the United States where you have access to the hybrid vehicles, but these are still seen as test markets such as in Seattle, Wash. The companies check the popularity of the hybrid cars and if those cars are fairly well received, the manufacturers will move into other areas.
- When you rent a vehicle from an agency, you rent only by the class and not the specific vehicle. In other words, the company can rent any car from the class you reserve or request. If you request a full-size vehicle, planning on a Honda Accord, you may be disappointed when a different car is presented. There isn't any way to guarantee a specific vehicle when you rent a car. However, you can try to call the specific location a few days before you need the car and request one, in hopes that they might keep it reserved for you. But again, there's no guarantee.
- In the future it may become easier to rent a Honda car from the more popular companies including Thrifty and Budget. There's also a chance that some of the smaller vehicles from Honda will become available for rent. If the company continues making popular cars, more will be available to rent. As more people express interest in hybrid vehicles and gas prices continue to rise, the ability to rent hybrid vehicles such as those from Honda will also grow.
