During the past, the only form of advertising products or brands is through the traditional/classic marketing. It uses in magazines, newspapers, radios and television in order to promote a particular product or brand. Today's trending marketing style is digital marketing, also known as Internet marketing, wherein its main goal is to engage their audience and allow them to interact with the brand through servicing and delivery of digital media. Digital marketing uses three marketing techniques like Search Engine Optimization (SEO), Social Media Optimization (SMO), and Search Engine Marketing (SEM).

There are a lot of differences between Traditional Marketing and Digital Marketing. First is the type of Marketing. For the traditional marketing, it's uniform, structured, and clear. Fliers are usually used to advertise a specific brand or product in which it contains campaigns and service hotlines. For the digital marketing, it is dissected, spread, and unclear. It has a lot of status updates, advertising campaigns, blog articles, community posts, comments, Twitter messages, and such. Second is the direction of communication. Traditional marketing is unidirectional or one-to-many. Information is only spread through passing of messages or through consumers only while digital marketing is multi-directional or many-to-many wherein both the company and consumer exchanges opinions or thoughts about a specific product or brand.

Next is scheduling. Long ranging advertisement campaigns are planned both over and for an extended time of the period for the traditional marketing while spontaneous advertisement campaigns are not planned in detail, but reactions to comments and requests are discussed in the digital marketing. Communication with the consumer is also considered. Traditional Marketing is well considered and reviewed wherein communication is only between the company and consumer through email, phone, or exchange of letters. Likewise, the point of discussion is kept as a secret. Digital Marketing is fast and public. Reactions to comments are immediate and can be seen in public. Anyone can read and join the discussion.

Availability is also a point. Traditional marketing advertises a certain product or brand during working hours while in Digital Marketing advertises a certain product or brand 24/7. It is available to anybody and anywhere or in other words,; it is optimized for the public. It's wealth of experience is analog since there is no technology to use during the past while for the other one, it is alternating and innovative. It is easy to change technical requirements, innovative marketing concepts, and legal positions are not assured.

Guidance in traditional marketing is consumer protection wherein marketing activities are supervised, mainly by consumer protection and competitors. On the other hand, it uses platforms and the participation of users, wherein marketing activities are supervised by the authority for consumer protection, competitors, and platform operators' & users.

Use of Language is very important. Traditional Marketing uses formal and legally safe language wherein strict marketing language is ready-made full of sentences while Digital Marketing is genuine and direct. There are no ready-made sentences, but personal responses and short answers are used instead.

Despite the advancement of technology, there are still companies that use the conventional marketing. As long as magazines and newspapers exist, it won't end. One of its disadvantage is that it creates limited awareness about brands and/or products.
