    Body

    • Before you wash your baby's hair, wash his body first. The hair should be the last part of his bath. Using a gentle soap that is intended for infants give your baby a sponge bath. The water in that you use should be between 90 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

    Hair

    • Once you have washed your baby's body, you need to move quickly to their hair so they are not in the tub for too long. Use a wash cloth to wet your baby's hair. Use a gentle all-purpose baby wash or a tear-free shampoo and lather her hair. Once all of your baby's hair is lathered, cradle their head gentle in your hand and carefully rinse their hair toward the back of her head. Make sure all the soap is rinsed away.

    Finishing

    • Get your baby out of the tub by wrapping him in a towel. Hooded towels work well because they keep your baby completely enveloped. Gently towel dry your baby's hair with the towel. Use a soft bristled brush to comb it in the desired direction.
