Guide Review - Elmo's Tickle Hands Toy Review

Elmo fanatics will move and groove with the Elmo's Tickle Hands toy, this holiday's featured Elmo toy, but is it worth $30? I don't think so.
Elmo's Tickle Hands is a pair of red, fuzzy, four-fingered gloves. One glove has a motor in the palm that vibrates, plays a song, sings and dissolves in that familiar Elmo giggle over and over. The vibrating motor in the palm of the hand is a hard, plastic box that could really hurt if kids "tickled" each other in the head.
The other glove contains no mechanism. There is no volume control or "off" switch, so it can fray a parent's nerves over time.

My 4-year-old son wiggled around a bit with Elmo, but lost interest after a few minutes. He's not a huge Elmo freak, though. Maybe, if he were obsessed, it would have kept his attention longer.

My 16-month-old son returns to the Tickle Hands more often and carries them around to hear the music play.

In the enclosed DVD, Elmo teaches the simple dance moves with the help of some really talented dancing kids. The music is very catchy and I admit that I found myself humming it at a traffic light. Unfortunately, after just four minutes of dancing, the DVD becomes a commercial for Sesame Street Home Video.

A DVD Player is not required for playing with Tickle Hands, but is required to watch the video to learn the dance.

A Phillips screwdriver is required to install 2 AA batteries, which are included

In 2011 the Sesame Street toy license leaves Fisher-Price and goes to Hasbro. It will be interesting to see how the Elmo toys change. I'll keep you posted as I find out more.
