    Microwave Steam Sterilizer

    • 1). Purchase an Advent Steam Sterilizer from any store where Advent bottles are sold.

    • 2). Fill the base with water according to the packaging instructions.

    • 3). Place bottles into the sterilizer. The sterilizer will hold up to six 9-ounce bottles with the nipples.

    • 4). Place the lid of the sterilizer onto the base and then put it into the microwave for four to six minutes.

    • 5). Remove the sterilizer from the microwave and allow it to sit for an hour. This will give the sterilizer time to cool off and for the bottles to drip dry. Finish drying the bottles after you have removed them from the sterilizer using a clean hand towel, or simply allow them to air dry.

    Sterilize with Bleach

    • 1). Fill your sink with hot water and add 2 tablespoons of bleach (1 tablespoon per gallon).

    • 2). Place the bottles in the water and allow them to soak for two minutes.

    • 3). Add 1 tablespoon of dishwashing soap to the hot water after the bottles have soaked.

    • 4). Using a bottle scrub brush, thoroughly clean the bottles and nipples. Rinse well with warm water.

    • 5). Allow the bottles and nipples to air dry completely.
