How to Adjust the Internet Speed on Microsoft XP
- 1). Click on "Start" and then click on "Control Panel".
- 2). Double-click on the "Network Connections" icon on the Control Panel window.
- 3). Right-click on your broadband/dial-up Internet connection icon, and then click on "Properties".
- 4). Click on the "General" tab of the Properties dialog box that opens, and then click on the "Configure" button.
- 5). Click on the "Advanced" tab of the broadband properties dialog box that opens, click to select the "Link Speed/Duplex Mode" option below Property, and then click to select the speed that you want from the "Value" drop down box. For dial-up, click to select the speed that you want from the "Maximum speed (bps)" drop-down box on the Modem Configuration dialog box that opens.
- 6). Click on the "OK" button.
