Satellite TV is Better Than Video Streaming Services Out There

Are you convinced that the best way to get quality entertainment is to make use of video streaming services like Netflix or Hulu? Although those internet services do indeed represent stiff competition for satellite TV, they are ultimately not good replacements for it. Satellite service enjoys a number of distinct advantages over them, and once you consider what those are you'll be able to sign up for the service that makes the most sense for you.

The main problem with video streaming services available on the internet is that they require an internet connection, but not just any old internet connection. Unless you're happy with viewing standard definition videos, you're going to need a fast broadband connection and those aren't cheap. Of course you may argue that you're going to have an internet connection anyway, but think about what kind of internet connection would be good enough for you without video streaming in mind. Most people use their connection to browse the web, chat with friends on Facebook and do some shopping online. For the average user, a basic and inexpensive broadband plan will do. If you want to be able to stream high definition movies though, you'll need to upgrade that connection to a more expensive offering. In the end, you'll probably end up paying around $20 to $30 more per month just so that you can stream videos from services like Netflix or Hulu.

As it turns out, you could spend a few dollars more and get a satellite entertainment subscription instead. Why would you want to do that? The answer is that your service is probably going to perform much better than Netflix or Hulu. When you sign up for satellite TV, you are going to pretty much be guaranteed good performance because the whole system was designed with that in mind. With the internet, there are just too many other variables to deal with and those can all affect performance.

Another thing to consider is that you might not be able to sign up for a fast enough connection in your area for internet video streaming. For example, lets say you live in a fairly remote area where you won't be able to sign up for cable or DSL service. Although those wouldn't be available, satellite TV would be because it's available pretty much anywhere. As long as you have a view of the sky, you'll be able to sign up.

Since the price would more or less be the same and both performance and availability would be better, it makes sense to consider choosing satellite over video streaming services. You might be thinking that you won't be able to access movies anytime you want like with Netflix, but that's no longer true. In direct response to the service model that Netflix offers, some satellite providers give their customers access to a vast library of new and old movie releases anytime they want, and for free. That should pretty much put the final nail in the coffin for offerings like Netflix and Hulu. You'll be able to enjoy the same kind of offerings they provide with much better performance and availability. It should be clear by now that satellite TV truly is better than all of those internet video streaming services out there.
