Unlock Controls

• Most of the controls that you can unlock in the game are from the Los Angeles courses. Unlocking controls in the game will help you improve all of your driving skills. After you beat the first race you'll unlock the control to be able to use nitrous oxide in your car, which will give a huge boost when used during races. Press the R2 button at anytime during a race to use the boost, but pay attention to the nitrous bar at the bottom of the screen to be sure not to use all of it at once. To unlock the burnout control, hold down the brake and accelerator at the same time. Your car will start to produce smoke, and when you release the brake your car will take off fast. To unlock the in-air controls, hold down the L1 button when going off of a ramp to make a perfect landing. To unlock the slip-stream turbo controls, you must be behind a car and let the meter on the right of the screen fill all the way up. Once it's full press the R2 button to get an extra boost without losing any of your available nitrous oxide. To unlock the two-wheel driving controls, hold down the L1 button and move the control stick to the left to ride on two wheels when driving through a tight space.
  
  

Racing Tips

• Always use the burnout control move before every race. If you are spun around backward during a race, perform a donut maneuver by pressing left or right, and then hold down the X and R1 buttons. When having racing bikes competing with you in the same race, try to knock the driver off by ramming into the side of the bike with your car. When you are behind an opponent you should try to hit their back wheels to make them skid and spin around. It's recommended that you don't do this until the end of a race, because once you do the opponent will come back around for revenge and do the same thing to you. Always try to save the majority of your nitrous oxide until the end of the race, and try using it when you're just about to go off of a large ramp to go the furthest distance possible. If you're not sure what car you should use in a race, you can press the Select button at any time to get to the Pause menu and view all of the cars. Press the square button to see all of the car statistics to know how your car will rank against the others.
  
  

Cheat Codes

• For extra help in the game, you can enter cheat codes by clicking on "Options" from the main menu. Press down on your control pad and you'll then see that "Option: Cheat Codes" is highlighted. Press the X button and you'll then be able to enter various codes. Enter "howhardcanitbe" to be able to adjust the difficulty in the game, and enter "immortal" to get all guns, rockets, unlimited nitrous oxide, and the option to be invincible in the races. Enter "carcrobatics" to turn on the in-air controls in the game, and enter "greenLantern" to have just unlimited nitrous oxide. Enter "savethekids" to unlock just the machine guns and rockets, and enter "howfastcanitbe" to determine the overall speed of each race. Enter "gladiator" to never get damaged in a race, and enter "voomPeds" to make the pedestrians during the races move more quickly. Enter "theCollector" to unlock all of the hidden cars in the game, and enter "Globetrotter" to unlock all of the courses. Enter "rimbuk" to unlock everything in Arcade mode.
