How to Use the "Final Fantasy XI" Music Converter
- 1). Download Mp3toWav (see Resources) and unzip it to the desktop or other folder location of your choice.
- 2). Double-click and install the program by following the on-screen instructions.
- 3). Find the newly installed program in the Programs menu and double-click the icon to run the program.
- 4). Click Start and select the MP3 you wish to convert.
- 5). Select the output directory you wish to have the new WAV file saved to.
- 1). Download Ximc (see Resources) and unzip it to the desktop or other folder location of your choice.
- 2). Double-click and run the program.
- 3). Click the button at the top-left and select the WAV file you wish to convert. It will automatically convert the file to BGW and be sent to the directory the WAV file is in.
- 1). Read the Final Fantasy XI song list located in the Resources section.
- 2). Find the song you wish to replace in the song list and find it in the Final Fantasy XI game directory in the folders entitled "SquareEnix/FINAL FANTASYXI/soundwinmusicdata", "SquareEnix/FINAL FANTASY XI/sound2winmusicdata" and "SquareEnix/FINAL FANTASY XI/sound3winmusicdata".
- 3). Back up the original BGW file by adding .bak to the end of the file name or by simply moving it to a new directory.
- 4). Click and drag your newly created BGW file to the its new location and change the file name to the song you wish to replace, taking care to overwrite the original file if prompted.
- 5). Play the game and hear your custom music in-game.
