Tips & the Objective of Bejeweled 2

    Basics

    • The object is to match three or more jewels of the same color to remove them from the board and score points. Gems fall down to fill empty spaces, and new jewels enter from the top of the playing area.

Match four gems of the same color to receive a power gem, which will destroy all of the jewels surrounding it when it is matched. Link five gems of the same color to earn a hyper cube, which can be matched with any surrounding piece to destroy all gems of that color.

    Game Modes

    • In classic mode of Bejeweled 2, you remove gems and clear levels until there are no possible moves available. In timed mode, you must race against the clock. Clearing gems will add to your time, but time runs out faster as you progress through the levels.

Endless mode is a never-ending game of Bejeweled 2, with no time limit and no way to lose the game. Puzzle mode features a series of levels in which all gems must be cleared from the board by matching them in a particular order.

    Tips

    • Match power gems before they fall to the bottom of the screen. It will be more difficult to find matches for them and they won't destroy as many jewels when they're at the bottom.

The playing field will refresh between levels in classic and timed modes, but any power gems and hyper cubes on your screen will carry over to the new level. Don't use these special jewels if you're close to finishing a level; save them for the next round, where they'll have more of an impact on your score and the timer.

Create chains of matches in a single move to earn bonus points. Work from the bottom of the screen to increase the chance of matches being made as the pieces fall down, but watch the entire playing field so you don't miss opportunities to create power gems or hyper cubes.

Several of the levels in puzzle mode are symmetrical, so matches made on one side of the board will also need to be made on the other. The "Undo" button allows you to take back moves without having to restart the puzzle, and there is no penalty for using the "Hint" button.
