Honey & Salt Can Save Your Dog"s Life!
There is no replacement for a terrific, competent & compassionate vet.
Their help and direction is invaluable to you and your dog.
In a dire health emergency your dog may be able to be revived by two very common items from your kitchen: honey & salt.
After you've called the emergency vet number you can try three things to help your dog revive from unconsciousness.
Remember there are no guarantees; your dog may still pass.
These are worth a try: First: Take a few drops of honey and smear it on you dog's gums.
At this moment the brain is a priority for your dog and getting glucose there can often bring a dog back from the brink.
Next: Take a pinch of salt and smear it on your dog's gums also.
It will stick there from the honey and any saliva.
Salt can be a miraculous reviver; getting sodium into the system quickly.
Last: There is a useful pressure point between your dog's nostrils.
It is the same one as on yourself.
In the middle of your upper lip is the point and it's tender.
The action is pressing up into your gumline into the base of your nose.
On you dog it's between and just beneath the nostrils.
Pressing it MAY help.
It is best to use a finger so you can feel how much pressure you're applying; you'll need to press in very firmly.
If someone is with you have them rub your dog's kidney/lower back area briskly while you press the nasal point.
If you're alone do the nose point first to see if you dog can come back.
Remember the sequence: Vet first followed by honey, then salt, then nose and finally lower back.
When and if your dog returns give them access to plenty of clean water and don't be in any rush to give them solid food.
They will let you know what needs to be done in good time.
