    • 1). Build your webpage. Make a directory folder on the root of your website domain server. Save your webpage to that directory folder you've created. Upload them to your server.

    • 2). Log in to your Control Panel and go to the "Security" section and click on the "Password Protect Directories" link. A dialog screen will pop up.

    • 3). Click the "Document Root For:" radio button and then from the drop-down menu select the URL of your website. Click "Go." You will be taken to a page that lists all of the directory folders within your website.

    • 4). Click on the folder you want to secure. You'll be redirected to a page called "Password Protect Directories," where you are able to setup the secure page.

    • 5). Click the check box that says "Password Protect this Directory." Type in a name for the directory you want to protect. This name will be shown to a user who tries to access the contents of that directory. The name you enter can be a different name from the name of the folder.

    • 6). Click "Save." You have now created a secure directory. You will be asked to enter a user name and password when you try to gain access to the page.

    • 7). Create a username and password that you can use to access the contents of your secure directory. Click on the "Go Back" link on the "Permissions Updated" page. This will bring you back to the "Password Protect Directories" page, where you are able to create a new username and password.

    • 8). Enter your chosen username in the appropriate space. Enter your chosen password in the space provided and again in the confirmation space. Click on "Add/modify authorized user" in order to create a new username and password for your protected directory.
