In the Bible,
Herein, there are two important questions,
The first question:
Has Lot really prostrated to the Angels?
Did not Lot know that it is an unforgivable sin to prostrate to anyone or anything other than the Lord God?
The second question:
Assuming that Lot did not know that it is an unforgivable sin to prostrate to anyone or anything other than the Lord God, then, what about the Angels? How come that they allowed Lot to do that? Why they did not prevent him of prostrating to them?
Did not the Angels know that it is an unforgivable sin for them too to let Lot prostrate to them?
The smart reader would find the answer in the story of John.
God sent an angel to his servant John.
John fell prostrate at the Angel's feet (Revelation 19:10).
The Angel said to him: Do not do that, I am a servant like you, prostrate only to God.
Consequently, why the Angels of Lot did not tell him that?
Are the Angels of the Old Testament different than the Angels of the New Testament?
In Islam, it is impossible for Lot to prostrate to anything or to anyone but to Allah, the Almighty Creator.
Islam is very strict in this point; anyone prostrates to anything or to anyone other than Allah is certainly a disbeliever and will dwell in the Eternal Fire in the Hereafter.
On the other hand, anyone says or believes that Lot prostrated to the Angels will dwell in the Eternal Fire in the Hereafter.
It is interesting that all of the 20 different English versions of the Bible translate the Hebrew word ????????????? that means Prostrate to bow down with face to the ground.
The Bible version "GOD'S WORD Translation" says: he got up to meet them and bowed with his face touching the ground.
Nevertheless, most of the eminent editors of the same 20 different English versions of the Bible translate the Greek word p??s????? that means prostrate to worship that is ?at?e?? in Greek.
In Greekp??s????? (G4352) means to fall upon the knees and touch the ground with the forehead as an expression of profound admiration; however, ?at?e?? (G3000) means to worship or to make religious service.
Only two versions of the Bible out of the 20 different English versions of the Bible translate the Greek word p??s????? to prostrate (Amplified Bible) and to bow before him (Young's Literal Translation) while the other 18 versions translate p??s????? to worship.
Again, "Prostrate" is essentially a kind of worship but not the vice versa.
Worship God = prayers, fasting, give Alms, pilgrim, thinking in God and in his kingdom, reading God's Book, Prostrate to God, etc.
