It's finally beginning to happen.
After decades of tinkering with the technology, the prevalence of 3D technology is taking hold throughout the entertainment world.
We've seen both movies and concerts (and even sports events) produced in three dimensions, giving viewers an added layer of adventure when it comes to enjoying anything they see.
The present rate of progress, not to mention the recent success of Avatar at the box office, gives every indication that things will continue to prosper in this medium during the years to come.
Let's quickly review three of the best 3D movies to have hit theaters since the technology unfolded.
If you haven't seen any of these movies and enjoy the technology, I would definitely recommend checking them out.
3.
U2 in 3D.
I mention this one because of the fact that it represents an entirely new medium in which this technology can be utilized.
This truly brought a concert atmosphere to life like never before.
The sound and visual effects were both phenomenal, and everyone I know who saw this truly felt like they were at the concert.
Imagine the numbers that things like these can pull in as more of these are released.
2.
Beowulf.
This movie, which came out in 2007, wasn't all that impressive if you didn't watch it with glasses on.
The ordinary version told the old tale of Beowulf, but in no extraordinary way.
The visual effects, however, were phenomenal.
The 3D version of this film enjoyed critical acclaim and probably inspired some of the many more releases we've seen during the course of the past year.
1.
Avatar.
Were you expecting anything else here? Truly a sight for sore eyes, the production on a whole is truly beautiful and like nothing moviegoers have ever seen before.
James Cameron took his time making this, and the effort unequivocally shows.
Get ready for the scores of Oscars that await him.
