How to Connect a Wireless Laptop to an Xbox Media Center
- 1). Turn off your Xbox.
- 2). Connect your wireless router to your laptop. You'll be connecting the Xbox to the laptop, not to the router directly.
- 3). Connect your laptop's Ethernet cable to your Xbox.
- 4). Access the Network Connection settings on your computer by either opening the Control Panel or going though the "Start" menu to "Run" and typing "ncpa.cpl" in the command prompt.
- 5). Find and select your connections--Wireless and LAN. Right-click and select "Bridge Connections." This will create a new icon that shows the bridge connection.
- 6). Turn your Xbox back on. You should now be connected.
- 7). If, for some reason, you're not yet connected, go back to "Network Connections" and choose to repair the connection. If that doesn't work, go to your Xbox and click on "Connect to Xbox Live," then click on "Test Connection." That should fix it.
