If you want 6-pack abs, you will actually need to work for them.
Sorry guys, but they don't just magically appear.
However, with the right exercise and by incorporating the right types of food into your diet will make 6 pack abs appear.
When you first begin your abs diet, there are 6 rules that you need to abide by at all times.
These rules will not only help you succeed in achieving a great looking midsection, but they will also provide you with an overall healthier body.
Rule #1: Eat 6 times a day Eating 6 meals a day will dramatically increase your metabolism and help you body extract all the nutrients needed from your food.
To optimize your 6 meals a day, you should consume three standard meals of about 300-400 calories and three snacks ranging from 100-200 calories depending on your level of activity.
Rule #2: Eat the Right Foods There are certain foods that contain the right amount of nutrients needed by your body to become a fat-burning machine.
Some of these foods contain the right carbs or the right amount of protein, while others contain the good fats that are needed for our diets to be balanced.
Either way, the following foods are some of the foods that you should strive to eat for each meal every day: *almonds *beans *spinach *dairy *oatmeal *eggs *olive oil *whole grains *extra-protein powder Rule #3: Have dessert! Yes, that's right, have dessert.
We crave sweets naturally.
It is our body's way of telling us that we need the nutrients from sweet foods like fruits.
So to appease that craving and to help you avoid being sent in to a sugar binge, eat dessert whenever you like.
Just try to make sure that they dessert you are eating is made with ab power foods.
This way you will be able to delight in something while also doing something good for your abs.
Rule #4: Watch what you drink There are plenty of drinks out there that are loaded with added sugar.
These sugars will absolutely sabotage your diet, and will cause you to experience blood sugar spikes and dips which will only cause you to unnecessarily eat.
To get those great abs, you need to watch what you drink.
Read the labels on those sports drinks, juices, and sodas, and if they have high sugar contents, don't drink them.
They are not worth it.
Also reduce the amount of alcohol you drink to 2 to 3 drinks a week.
This will cut down on your calories and give you the energy needed to work out.
Rule #5: Allow yourself to cheat If you don't allow yourself to cheat on your diet, you will hop off the bandwagon pretty quickly.
Not cheating will send you in to binge eating cycles, and will force you to lose your desire to stick with the diet.
Just make sure that your cheat days match up with days that you had already planned on going out such as a birthday or office happy hour.
It will make it easier for you to come back and stick to your diet when the night is done.
Rule #6: Don't Obsess The foods and exercise found in the ab diet are meant to maintain themselves.
Don't worry about counting every calories or every gram of fat.
Simply eat sensible meals and keep up on your exercise routine, and your body will do the rest.
Obsessing will only stress you out, and will make you more likely to quit if you have one bad day.
