The PS3"s Yellow Light of Death
When the PS3 first came out, there were many stories about the problems it had with overheating.
Sony still denies this problem but most people are aware of it.
I was to but I never gave it too much thought.
It was not until one day when I got off of work.
I was ready to sit down and relax and unwind playing one of my favorite video games on the PS3.
I turned the power on and it happened.
The light went from red to green, then from green to yellow which I had never seen before.
I never knew there was a yellow light on the PS3.
I then heard it beep three times and the light went from yellow to blinking red.
I had never seen this before so I checked online to see what this meant.
I found out it is known as the yellow light of death pretty much meaning my game was broken.
I contacted Sony's customer service to find out what could be done to fix it.
Unfortunately, my PS3 was no longer under warranty.
I could still send it in and receive a refurbished unit but at the cost around $150 not counting the charges for shipping and handling.
It can also take about four weeks or so after you send your PS3 in to get fixed until you receive another one.
This was unbearable for me because I need my games to unwind everyday.
However, I did find out that a person like you and me can actually make the repairs to the PS3 ourselves.
