Next year will be the 100th year anniversary of titanic"s tragic maiden voyage. 2012 is set to be a big year for Belfast with a new building currently being constructed to commemorate the short life of the legendary ship. The building is named "Titanic Belfast" and is currently under construction and expected to be ready before May 2012, which means it will be ready before the date the ship actually sank. Titanic Belfast is expected to attract thousands of visitors to the city which should be a huge help to the local economy.

The Titanic Belfast is being constructed at the by the original slipways where the RMS Titanic was built alongside her sister ship the RMS Olympic. The building will be a huge tourist attraction for years to come and is set to entertain, educate and inspire everyone who visits. Some of the features to be included are:

The Titanic Experience
This will allow visitors to get involved with an interactive exhibition that will include walking along a 50 metre model of the Titanic as well as virtually travelling down to the bottom of the Atlantic to investigate the resting place of the ship.

A Flying Theatre
Visitors will be able to view and learn more about Belfast and Northern Ireland from above as they "fly" over the city and country.

There will also be a Banquette suite set out in a Titanic theme as well as a community arts centre, a cafe, a restaurant and a shop.

Belfast is an up and coming city and has recently had a lot of construction work completed. One great architectural work completed in recent years is the Victoria Shopping Centre which has an extremely unique design and is set out doors. The shopping centre also has an observatory that allows you to see stunning views in all directions. These views include the Docks and shipyard where Harland and Wolff (The shipping company that built the Titanic) still exists today as well as great views of Belfast Lough where the Titanic first sailed from when the ship was on route to Liverpool.

All in all the Titanic Belfast should do a lot of good for the city of Belfast attracting more people to the city and giving residents something to be proud of. The building is set to be a fantastic long standing tribute to the most famous liner in the world.
