How to Import Favorites From IE8 to Linux Mint 9

    Export

    • 1). Insert a USB flash drive or other removable media into your Windows computer.

    • 2). Open Internet Explorer by clicking "Start," "All Programs" and "Internet Explorer."

    • 3). Click the "Favorites" button at the upper left corner of the Internet Explorer window.

    • 4). Click the down arrow to the right of Add to Favorites and select "Import and Export."

    • 5). Select "Export to a File" and click "Next."

    • 6). Click the "Favorites" checkbox and click "Next."

    • 7). Select all your favorites by clicking "Next," or specify a specific favorites subfolder by clicking it in the list and click "Next."

    • 8). Click "Browse," browse to your USB flash drive and click "Save."

    • 9). Click the "Export" button.

      Remove the USB flash drive or removable media from your Windows computer.

    Import

    • 1). Insert the USB flash drive or other media device into your Linux Mint computer.

    • 2). Click the "Menu" button at the bottom-left corner of the Linux Mint desktop, select "Internet" in the menu and click the "Firefox" shortcut.

    • 3). Click the "Bookmarks" menu in Mozilla Firefox and select "Organize Bookmarks."

    • 4). Click the "Import and Backup" menu in the bookmarks library window and select "Import HTML."

    • 5). Click "Next," navigate to the bookmarks.html file on your flash drive computer and double-click it.
