One Quarter of Proceeds Dedicated to Children Effected By Aids in Africa

On November 19th, 2008 the House of Gucci officially launched its new Tattoo Hearts Collection with one quarter of the proceeds from it's sale to go directly to UNISEF. Furthermore; officials at Gucci stipulated in the contract with UNISEF that those proceeds are to be earmarked specifically for assisting children affected by AIDS and HIV in Sub-Saharan Africa.

To insure the success of this most recent of Gucci's philanthropic efforts, the House of Gucci has enlisted international pop sensation Rhianna as their official spokesmodel for the Collection. A red heart is emblazoned on each all white item in the collection that includes purses ranging in price from $595 - $4,995, as well as a number of shoes, a coin purse, a scarf, a cosmetic case, as well as a necklace.

When asked why Gucci [http://guccigoods.com] has selected Rhianna to spearhead their promotions efforts for this particular line, creative director Frieda Giannini explained that it was unanimous among Gucci's top decision makers that she was a perfect fit for the job. "Shes an accomplished musician, as well as a beautiful woman with a strong personality, qualifying her as the perfect icon for this particular charity campaign".

UNISEF was created in 1946 by the United Nations to deal with the aftermath of World War Two in Europe and most specifically the starving children left in its wake. In 1953 the United Nations general assembly voted to make UNISEF an official arm of the United Nations Organization and also extended its mandate indefinitely.

Since then, UNISEF has expanded its operations to cover all four corners of the globe and is currently heavily involved in answering the needs of children affected by the AIDS epidemic that has swept through the entire African continent. These children include not just those actually afflicted with the virus but the countless orphans who have lost both their parents to the disease.

The House of Gucci has been at the philanthropic forefront of the fashion industry since the first initial call to arms in the fight against HIV AIDS. On a further note; Rhianna is not the first celebrity to stand shoulder to shoulder with Gucci in their fund raising campaigns that have drawn the likes of Madonna, who to this day is heavily involved with Gucci's AIDS related charitable endeavors.
