What"s it like to feel the touch of a shadow man on your shoulder?

"I have always been a skeptic of the paranormal," reports William, "until one day at my dad's house, where I was living at the time. I encountered a shadow person. It was a weekend night, probably around midnight. I was in the basement ready to go upstairs and call it a night. I turned off all the lights before going up the stairs, and the basement was pitch black. I did not know where my dad was, but seeing as I was in the basement alone, it seemed highly unlikely that my dad was downstairs with me.

"I started my walk up the stairs by touch, only to feel a hand on my shoulder. I jumped in a 90-degree turn and said, "Dad!" A sense of dread came over me, as they say happens upon seeing shadow people. What I saw was a human-shaped figure slightly a lighter shade of black than the pitch-black basement. There were no facial features or anything -- just an outline. The figure only lasted seconds before fading away.

"I quickly ran upstairs to see my dad fast asleep in bed. I was scared for days afterward, but the fear eventually turned to curiosity. None of my family believed me. I never saw the figure again or had a paranormal experience since then, but I am no longer a skeptic."

An experience like that would convert most skeptics, William. And it's not often that a person feels physical contact from a shadow person.

Your case also confirms my contention that most paranormal experiences happen when they are not expected. Odds are that if you had paranormal investigators at your house actively looking for shadow people in your basement, they would come up empty-handed.

It's as if ghosts and these other entities want to be in charge of when they make themselves known.
