Some Advice for Guys of Online Dating

Let me begin with the biggest piece of advice I can offer. I've put it in quotes to really make it stand out.

€ Keep your interesting picture as the last picture you post and not the first €

You probably have some experience of online dating sites already. You ay have signed up to a few and weeded your way through some women's profiles at this stage. Now it's time to take a look at your own profile. As you need it to €stand out from the crowd'.

Let's discuss the topic of photos first.

Some sites that I have seen allow members to upload a massive 25 pictures to a profile. The important thing to thing about here is that just because they allow for that many, doesn't mean you need to use all the space given. On the flip side, having zero or one picture is not so good either. I would recommend having at least 3 to 5 pictures.

Please only use photographs of yourself. Put your best pictures out there, as long as they are accurate. When you think about it, you are going to be drawn to attractive pictures of women. A couple of great photos will win over 5 or more mediocre ones. As a woman, my advice is that women will look for that one bad photo to decide whether or not to email or send you an instant message.

Ok so we know a little bit about photos, €what else do I need to know' I hear you ask. If possible, don't include a load of pictures of you with your friends. The reason being, you will instantly be compared to all of the other people in your pictures. At the end of the day, this is your profile and you should be the main centre of attention. Have you ever looked at a woman's profile and thought to yourself, €She's really nice, but woah her friends HOT, I wish I could meet her friend instead'. Well the truth is, woman do that also. We want to see a good picture of you, not loads of scenery from your last holiday or a picture of 20 of your mates on your last boys holiday. We want to see a picture of you, full stop.

Now, back to my comment from earlier.

€ Keep your interesting picture as the last picture you post and not the first €

The last picture you post should be your most €interesting€ picture. What do I mean though when I say €interesting€ picture. Now that we think you're good-looking, we need to find out something more interesting about you to help us start our conversation either by emailing or instant messaging. Examples are a picture of you mountain climbing, skydiving, posing with your dog, being a volunteer firefighter - all things that make you different and give us something to ask about if we email you.
