How to Putt in Golden Tee Golf
- 1). Don't pull the trackball back when putting in Golden Tee. Pulling the trackball back is necessary when driving the ball. However, you can simply hit the trackball forward in order to putt. Pulling the trackball back could either adversely affect the direction of your putt or give the putt too much power, causing it to lip out or roll over the hole.
- 2). Use your thumbs to putt the ball. Most people use their palms to hit the trackball when driving in Golden Tee. However, it's much easier to direct the ball with more precision by using your thumbs. Place the tips of your thumbs at the bottom of the trackball. Center them to the exact middle of the trackball so that you can hit the ball straight or direct it if the green slopes in one direction.
- 3). Notice whether your putt will be moving uphill or downhill. This will determine how hard you should hit your putt. Striking the ball too lightly on an uphill putt will cause your putt to be short. However, if you hit the ball with too much force on a downhill putt, the ball with either lip out or roll over the hole. Also, if the putt is downhill and sloping right or left, a ball hit too hard will not curve enough to land in the hole.
- 4). Use the trackball to direct your putt. Golden Tee allows you the option to change the direction of your stance using the arrows found on the panel of the arcade game. However, doing this will actually make your putt more difficult. After a few rounds of Golden Tee, you'll get used to how far you'll need to hit the trackball to the right or the left to accurately direct your putt into the hole.
- 5). Use the 7-iron when your golf ball is on the fringe of the green. Golden Tee forces you to use the putter when on the green. However, you can use your putter or another club when your ball is on the fringe. The 7-iron will allow you to chip the ball towards the hole. Since the ball won't be on the ground as much, there will be less chance that the ball will curve away from the hole. To do this, pull the 7-iron back slightly (how far you pull it back will depend on the length of the shot) and gently hit the trackball with your thumbs as you would for a putt of medium distance.
