11. DX, Mark II - 6/19/06

For years, one question on every fanboy’s mind was: “Will DX ever reunite?” Their answer came this night in Rochester, NY, when the TitanTron lit up with the chaotic images that comprised DX’s signature entrance video, and a neon green light illuminated the entrance ramp. Clad in signature black Ts and jeans, and strutting out to a flurry of pyro, Triple H and Shawn Michaels took to the ring and celebrated the long overdue return of sports-entertainment’s most celebrated bad boys. And even if you tired of the cock jokes after the first thousand or so, there was no denying the greatness of this moment.

12. The Hardy Invasion - 7/11/05

The love triangle between Edge, Lita and Matt Hardy was so tawdry, and so over-the-top, that it could have come right out of a Telemundo soap opera. This bubbling stew of betrayals, loose women and broken dreams finally boiled over at the Continental Airlines Arena, where, during a grudge match between Kane and Edge, a maniacal Matt Hardy stormed the ring and made his first appearance since being fired months prior. Sweaty, wild-eyed and screaming, the sight of Hardy looking like an escaped mental patient had all of us reaching for our pepper spray.

13. The Animal Turns The Tables - 2/21/05

For two straight years, Batista was known strictly as Evolution’s clench-toothed, musclebound enforcer. That all changed when, after winning the Royal Rumble, Batista caught wind of an imminent betrayal at the hands of Triple H and Ric Flair. At the contract signing that would determine whether he would jump to SmackDown or stay on Raw, the Animal scooped Triple H up and deposited him unceremoniously through a table, striking out on his own and becoming World Heavyweight Champion at WrestleMania 21. Stepping out from under the shadow of Evolution, Batista went from for-hire thug to a gold-carrying Superstar.

14. Jericho Is Excellence - 8/9/99

In the middle of The Rock calling out Big Show, the Millennium Clock countdown that had been appearing for weeks on Raw finally made its final tick. The stage went black, the pyro hit and “Jericho” flashed across the TitanTron. The tide was beginning to turn in the Monday Night War, and now a WCW star was jumping ship. With arms outstretched and topknot fully fastened, Y2J greeted the crowd, claiming to be, “Your new hero. Your party host. And, most importantly, the most charismatic showman to ever enter your living rooms via a television screen.” And he was right, as no debut before or since (see p19) has eclipsed the awesomeness of this moment.

15. Vince’s Inhospitable Hospital Visitors - 10/5/98

After suffering a leg injury the week prior, Mr. McMahon was laid up in the hospital. The night did not play out well for the convalescing Chairman. Instead of get well wishes, he got Mankind bearing gifts of balloons, chocolate and a female clown. When that failed to soothe Vince, Mankind made history by putting his hand down his pants and introducing Mr. Socko to the world. A disgusted Chairman pleaded with Mick Foley to leave. After a nurse tended to his ailment, Stone Cold—under the guise of a doctor—decided to make a house call too, and clocked McMahon with a bedpan, leaving him completely incapacitated, and viewers completely amused.
