The Television and Movie Screen Writers Guild has stated that they will go on strike.
Who will perform the work for the industry while all these folks are on strike so they can make more money? Well, there are a lot of top quality writers online, who say they will cut the picket lines and write.
Why? Simply because they want to break into the industry and they are willing to work for much less.
One online article writer who also writes Sci Fi eBooks said he was joining the online alliance of writers now forming to offer services to Hollywood.

Yes, it is about money and yet supply and demand in California alone would dictate that there are tens of thousands of starving writers, many of which are quite good who would work for half of what the Union Screen Writers will.
So, perhaps it is time to allow another union to fall and allow free-enterprise to set prices.
If the Union Screenwriters are that good and in that much demand, then they would not have to go on strike to get their way.
If the Screenwriters get their way, the price that movie goers pay will increase.
Much of what the Union Screenwriters put out is not that good, some are awesome and they command a very high pay, but others are just average and well, isn't it time that they were replaced so we could get some better show on TV and some better movies that are not the same old thing? Go on strike, we can pick up the slack.
